ECCC TRIAL OBSERVATION
Chaktomuk Hall during the Khmer Rouge (1975-1979) was used as People Parliamentary Hall. In 1979, the People's Republic of Kampuchea decided to try the former Khmer Rouge leaders in absentia in the hall. Chaktomouk Hall was built and completed in 1961 by Vann Molyvann. It locates on the banks of the Tonlé Sap river in Phnom Penh. It is now in use as a performance space. Source: Documentation Center of Cambodia Archives.

ECCC TRIAL OBSERVATION
In anticipation of the start of the second and most important case of the ECCC, DC-Cam has created an ECCC Observation Team.  The purposes of the project are: (1) to provide regular thematic  reports on issues of particular interest or concern via the internet; (2) to provide confidential critical assessments to the ECCC as needed to contribute to a fair and effective process; (3) to disseminate up-to-date information to Cambodians explaining the Case 002 proceedings via a two-page Khmer-language bulletin on a monthly basis; and (4) to equip young Cambodian law students with the skills to monitor and analyze trial proceedings.
