Elizabeth Jelin Elizabeth Jelin is an Argentine sociologist and a senior researcher (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Cientifica y Tecnicas); director of the Programa de investigacones Socioculturales en el Mercosur, at IDES, Buenos Aires. Academic director of the Program on ”Collective memories of repression: Comparative perspectives on Democratization processes in Latin American’s southern cone”. She was a member of the World Commission on Culture and Development. Her research work deals with questions of citizenship, human rights and social movements. Publications include: Los trabajos de la memoria (2002), Pan y afectos: la transformación de la familias (1998), Constructing Democracy: Human Rights, Citizenship and Society in Latin America (1996), Family, Household and Gender Relations in Latin America (1991), Women and Social Change in Latin America (1990). >> Back to top |
