Ian Francis Hancock


Ph. D at London University, School of Oriental and African Studies 1971. Professor in the Departments of Linguistics, Asian Studies and English and Academic Affiliate of The Foreign Language Education Center, The University of Texas at Austin Professor Hancock has been the initiator or participator in many activities dealing with racial equality or the rights of the Romas, i.a: Organized an interdepartmental conference on the German deportations of Roma, The University of Texas, 1992. Advisory Board Member, Texas Committe for the Humanities since 1978. Was the main representative in the United Nations Praesidium of the International Romani Union and Main INICEF Representative for the IRU, 1986-1999. Member of Association for the Advancement of Education for Democracy (Switzerland) since 1993.
