A Live Screening Verdict on Case 002/01 at O-Choat Pagoda

On August 7, 2014 , a live screening of the verdict in Case 002/01, against Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan, was relayed in dining hall of Kirirom Santepheap, known locally as O-Choat Pagoda with the presence of 200 participants. This pagoda is located in Tuol Kh-Poas Village, Phnom Proek Commune, Phnom Proek District, Battambang Province. The pagoda was built in 1996 after the Khmer Rouge soldiers integrated with the Royal Government of Cambodia and constructed on the land of a former Khmer Rouge commander. Its names was chosen based on its geography and landscape, especially small stream and inclined ground. Phnom Proek is located uphill known as Phnom Proek and borders with Chanta Buri Province, Thailand. More than 90 percent of people in this area is former Khmer Rouge cadres. Presently, most of them do farming.
