On August 7, 2014, a live screening was conducted inside Ka-Ngaok Meas pagoda in Phteah Sre village, Svay Luong commune, Kandieng district, Pursat province. Approximately 300 villagers, local leaders and buddhist monks participated in the event that Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan were sentenced to life in prison. During the Khmer Rouge regime, buddhist monks in Ka-Ngaok Meas pagoda were defrocked and all kinds of practices were prohibited. The Khmer Rouge used this pagoda as a workshop to produce agricultural tools. This pagoda was reconstructed after the fall of the regime in January 1979.
