Anlong Veng, 6-8 August 2014: These were photos taken throughout Anlong Veng area, the Khmer Rouge's last stronghold area that only became under the complete control of the Cambodian Government in 1998. Anlong Veng is a small town situated close to the Thai border in northern Cambodia. The photos show a group people attending a public live screening of the Khmer Rouge Tribunal's verdict pronouncement against Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan. Both of them were sentenced to life and their lawyers already said in public that they will appeal the verdict. Among the crowd were former Khmer Rouges who admitted to team from the Documentation Center of Cambodia that, although they generally support the sentence against Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan, they would like the tribunal to stop at Case 002. They also said that they are scared of being implicated in some ways with the on-going Tribunal. The photos also show Pol Pot's grave yard located just about 100 meters from the border and Ta Mok's tomb located not too far away from Pol Pot's grave yard.
