On January 17, 2012, the Documentation Center of Cambodia (DC-Cam) and the Army Institute of Ministry of Defense conducted a one-day training session at the Army Institute. This training session was participated two hundred army officers to engage in a discussion—led by national and international guest speakers—on such topics as the history of Democratic Kampuchea, the stories of victims and perpetrators who lived during the DK period, and different perspectives on what happened and why during the Khmer Rouge regime. Finally, there discussed also on the role of security forces as reflected in the laws of war and applicable conventions to which Cambodia is a party.
