I went through both hard times and good times during the Khmer Rouge regime. That is why I want to tell my children that during the Pol Pot time people were forced to work without rest with very little food to eat. They consumed everything edible they could find, like tree leaves and roots. So I now advise my children to work hard. We must work for ourselves now, if not no one will feed us.
