LO Sim, 50 years old (2002)

I don't know what to say about the Khmer Rouge leaders; they were too barbarous, they killed their own people. In Prey Sar [prison], I pretended to be frank and obedient and worked very hard, so that they would spare my life. Four to ten people were killed each night. They were told they were to work at a distance from the prison, peeling kapok fruits. But instead, they were taken off to be killed.
