An old society electrician who was summoned back to work at the tyre
factory in Ta Khmav described the disappearance of a Czech and
French-educated chemical engineer, Pin Thun, who was also brought
back to the factory, but lasted only a year, or two at most.
According to this source, Thun openly talked back to the cadre,
declaring he'd spent years in a Communist country, and it was
nothing like what they were doing, with all their restrictions on
eating and so on, that what they were doing was completely
different, so vicious. Moreover, Thun waylaid Ieng Thirith, with
whom he had studied, on the road, stopping her car when he was on
his motorbike, and asking her all sorts of questions.
