A Kampot woman was transferred to Phnom Penh in mid-1978 was
assigned first to K2, which she recalled as being located in a
market area near a pair of lion statues and where she met Ieng
Thirith. At first, she cleaned up the area, where there was a
warehouse full of containers for rubbing ointment. After a couple
of months, she and others went to the Social Action Ministry for
reassignment. Some were sent to Kh-1, others to the 6 January
Hospital. Ieng Thirith was in charge of the ministry, she
recalled. She identified Peuan as the chairman of the ministry
office, adding that he was Ieng Thirith's son-in-law, being married
to Thirith's daughter, Minh. Minh was the chairwoman of Po-1,
otherwise known as the 6 January Hospital. By the time she was
assigned to Po-1, this source said, it was filling up with
battlefield wounded from Svay Rieng. Her immediate superiors were
named Vanna and Lon. She never saw Ieng Thirith at the hospital.
She was aware of no instances of arrests or disappearances.
